Origin and history of town name
It is a town newly established from a part of Hino-cho with the indication of the house in 1993.
In the old days, it was called Hinogo, and it was divided into four villages: Miyagaya Village, Miyanoshita Village, Kin Imura and Yoshiwara Village. At the time of the municipal system enforcement in 1889, Hino-go and Sasashita-go were combined, taking the "Sun" and "Sasashita" of "Hino" were taken into Kusaka Village. (Merger Hino Village, Sasa Shimomura, Yabe Nomura, Tanaka Village, Kuriki Village, Kaminakasato Village, Minemura, and Kooritori Sawamura). Kusaka Village is referred to as "Hinoshitamura" in the notification of the Kanagawa Prefecture Gazette" issued by the municipal system in 1889, but according to Hiroyoshi Takeuchi, Kusaka Village was first referred to as "Kusakamura", but in the early Taisho In the early days, no one reads "Kusaka", and it is common to call it "Hishimura". At the time of transfer to Yokohama City on April 1, 1927, Kuraki-gun (Kurakigun) Kusaka-mura, Hino character Motonomiya, Miyagaya, Miyanoshita, Kanai, Yoshiwara to Hino Town. The name of "Hino-cho" is based on the old village name. The current town name was taken from the previous town name "Hino Town".
The Kamakura Highway passes on the west side, the Hino River flows on the southwest side, the Yokohama Yokosuka Road passes, and there is Hino Interchange in 2-chome. There is a Sakuramichi cherry blossom viewing course at the municipal Hino Park Cemetery that spreads out in 1-chome.
