Origin and history of town name
It is a town newly established from each part of Okubo-cho and Moest town with the enforcement of the house indication in 1975.
In the old days, it was called Kuraki-gun, and when the municipal system was enforced in 1889, Kubo-mura, Bessho-mura, Nakasatomura, Hiroaki Teramura, Kamiooka-mura, Shimo-Ooka-mura, Makita-mura, Horinouchi-mura, Moving Village, Ido Ke Tanimura, and Nagata-mura, and became Ooka Kawamura in 1926.
It is said that it was written "Shishido" or "Shido" in the old days. Sumio Sakurai said, "If the sound of the side is in the original form, Saido can be considered. In other words, it is said that the place where Dosojin was enshrined.
The Okagawa River flows, and the Keikyu Main Line, Municipal Subway, and Kamakura Highway pass.
