About "guidance of vote"

The "Voting Information" sent in a sealed letter for each household will be sent from the post office after Tuesday, October 15th.

Even if you do not have a "voting guide" or identification documents (my number card, driver's license, etc.), you can vote early or vote on the day.

About election bulletin, examination bulletin

Election bulletins (small constituencies and proportional representatives) and examination bulletins (national screening) will be distributed to each household two days before the election date (Friday, October 25).
Prepare for each ward office, district center and sports center.

How to vote

・Small-seat constituencies
 Enter the name of one candidate on the ballot paper (Asagi color (light blue))

 On the ballot paper (Uguisu color), enter X in the applicable column of the name of the judge who wants to quit among the names of the judges listed.

Japanese citizens who meet both age requirements and Address requirements

(1) Age requirements (those who are 18 years or more as of voting date)
 *Those born by October 28, 2006 (the day following the day 18 years before the voting date)
(2) Address requirements (those who have been recorded in the Basic Resident Register for at least three months since the date resident certificate was created)
 If you have changed Address, please check the following.

Those who have been transferred from outside Yokohama City

Those who have moved in by Sunday, July 14, 2024 (three months before the electoral list registration reference date)
 →It will be a vote in Address after moving in.
Those who have moved in after Monday, July 15, 2024
 →It will be a vote in Address before moving in.

Those who live in Yokohama City and have been transferred (or moved in the ward)

Person who reported section (or in ward) transfer by Tuesday, October 1, 2024
 →It will be a vote in Address after the transfer.
Person who reported section (or in ward) transfer after Wednesday, October 2, 2024

Notes

  1. To vote, you need to be registered in the electoral list.
  2. Those who are recorded in the Basic Resident Register and have Address requirements are registered in the electoral list.
  3. Those who vote in "Previous Address" must be registered in the electoral list of the previous Address.

About early vote

If you cannot go to the polling place for certain reasons on the election date, you can vote even before the election date.

Efforts to create an environment where everyone can easily vote

In Yokohama-shi, ward Election Administration Committee, we work on maintenance of voting environment so that voters can vote safely and in peace and, in turn, lead to improvement of turnout.

From this election, we will introduce a "voting support card" to create an environment where those who need assistance at the time of voting can easily convey their intentions.

Absentee voting (method of voting at a business trip destination, hospitalization destination, home (requires certain requirements), etc.)

※Requests for absentee voting should be made as soon as possible.

Those who are staying outside the ward due to business trips, travel, childbirth, etc.

If you are staying outside the ward on the day of the voting day due to work, travel, childbirth, etc., you can vote at the nearest Election Commission, such as your place of stay.

  1. Fill out the “Invoice and Oath” with required items and submit it directly or by mail to the Election Commission of the ward registered in the electoral list online to request a ballot.

Regarding the National Examination of Judges of the Supreme Court

A member of the House of Representatives who has the right to vote can vote for the Supreme Court Judge National Examination.
The law that partially revises the Supreme Court Judge National Examination Act (promulgated on November 18, 2022, enforced on February 17, 2023), enables overseas voting and offshore voting for the Supreme Court Judge National Examination.

Information about the judges to be judged can be viewed from the Kanagawa Prefecture website (outside site).
