"Caution" Please note that in the following cases (examples) may violate Article 142 or 146 of the Public Office Election Law regarding the handling of the Election Bulletin posted on the Election Commission website.
・Print out the Election Bulletin published on the Election Commission website and distribute it to unspecified or large numbers of people.

About distribution time of election bulletin

In the election bulletin of the House of Councilors election, candidates will submit manuscripts by the day after the election announcement date. After printing it as a manuscript by the Kanagawa Election Commission and hand it over to the Election Commission of each municipality, it will be distributed to each household by the Election Administration Committee of each municipality. Therefore, it will take a certain number of days before the distribution starts, but we will strive to distribute it promptly so that it can be delivered as soon as possible.

How to vote

・Constituency elections
 Write the name of one candidate on the ballot paper (cream (light yellow) color).

・Proportional representative election
 Write the name of one candidate or political party on the ballot paper (white)

Required requirements

Those who meet both "Age Requirements" and "Address Requirements"
(1) Age requirement (for those who are 18 years or older as of the voting date)

 *Those born by July 22, 2001 (the day after 18 years before the voting day)

(2) Address Requirements (those who have been recorded in the Basic Resident Register for at least three months from the date on which resident certificate was created)

  If you have changed Address, please check the following.

Those who have been transferred from outside Yokohama City

Person who made transference notice by Wednesday, April 3, 2019 (three months before electoral list registration reference date)
 →You will have to vote in Address after moving in.
Those who have moved in after Thursday, April 4, 2019
 →You will have to vote in Address before moving in.

Those who live in Yokohama City and have been transferred (or moved in the ward)

Person who reported section (or ward) transfer by Saturday, June 1, 2019
 →It will be voted in Address after the transfer.
Person who reported section (or in ward) transfer after Sunday, June 2, 2019
 →It will be voted in Address before the transfer.

Precautions

1.To vote, you need to be registered in the electoral list.
2.In the electoral list, those who are recorded in the Basic Resident Register and have the Address requirements are registered.
3.Those who vote in the "former Address" must be registered in the previous Address electoral list.
4.Those who have been transferred from outside Yokohama City on or after April 4, 2019, and who have passed 4 months from the date of moving out of the previous Address area will be deleted from the electoral list. Please note that you cannot vote in Address.

About early vote

The available period and time vary depending on the early polling place.
Submission of "Invoice (and Oath)" is required. Therefore, if you fill in the form in advance and bring it, you will be able to accept it smoothly.
※Even if you receive the "Voting Information", you may not be able to vote due to relocation of Address.

Opening period and voting time of ward office

The period is from Friday, July 5 to Saturday, July 20
Time is from 8:30 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.

The available period and time vary depending on the early polling place.

Early polling place

Absentee voting by mail, etc.

Method of voting at business trips, hospitalizations, and home (certain requirements are required), etc.

1.Fill out required items in the “Invoice and Oath Form” and submit it to the Election Commission of the ward registered in the electoral list by bringing or mailing, and request a ballot.
 ※required documents is located in the municipal board of elections, such as the place of residence. You can also download it from voting in municipalities that are not registered in the electoral list.

2.In addition to ballot papers and voting envelopes (outer envelopes, inner envelopes), you will receive an absentee voting certificate.
3.From the day after the announcement date, bring the necessary documents for voting and go to the municipal election committee of the place of stay.
 ※Please bring the envelope containing the absentee vote certificate without opening it.
 ※Please do not list the candidate's name on the ballot in advance.
4.From the day after the announcement date to Saturday, July 20, the absentee vote will be held at the nearest municipality election committee.
 Please complete the vote as soon as possible.

For details, please check the voting in municipalities that are not registered in the electoral list.

Those who are hospitalized or hospitalized in nursing homes, etc.

If you are hospitalized or in a facility designated by the prefectural board of elections, you can vote at that facility.
Please refer to each facility for details.
