About "guidance of vote"

The "Voting Information" sent in a sealed letter for each household is expected to arrive by Thursday, January 30.
Even if you do not have a "voting guide" or identification documents (my number card, driver's license, etc.), you can vote early or vote on the day.

Candidate information and election bulletin

  • Election bulletins will be distributed to each household two days before the election date (Friday, February 7).
    We will also prepare for ward offices, district centers, etc.
    In addition, we can read in early polling place and polling place on the day.

Those who meet both age requirements and Address requirements

  1. Age requirements (those who are 18 years or more as of voting date)

Those who have been transferred from outside Yokohama to Minami Ward

  • Those who have moved in by Wednesday, October 30, 2024 (three months before the electoral list registration reference date)
    →You can vote.

Those who have been transferred to Minami Ward from other wards in Yokohama City

  • Those who have notified the transfer by Monday, January 13, 2025
    →You can vote.

Those who live in Minami Ward and have moved in the ward

  • Those who have notified the transfer by Monday, January 13, 2025
    →You can vote in Address now.
  • Those who have notified of transfer after Tuesday, January 14, 2025
    →You can vote at the previous Address.

Notes

  • You must be on the electoral list of Minami Ward to vote.
  • Those who have been recorded in the Basic Resident Register for more than three months will be registered in the electoral list.
  • Those who have been transferred out of the city by the voting day cannot vote.
  • Those who have been transferred from Minami Ward to other wards in the city and who have been notified of transfer by Monday, January 13, 2025 cannot vote.
    In addition, one who reported transfer after Tuesday, January 14, 2025 can vote.

Early voting / early voting place

If you cannot go to the polling place for certain reasons on the election date, you can vote even before the election date.
The available time varies depending on the early polling place.
Fill in the name, date of birth, etc. in advance on the “Invoice (and oath)” on the back of the “Voting Information” and bring it with you to accept it smoothly.
You can vote even if you do not have a "voting guide".
※Even if you receive a "voting guide", you may not be able to vote due to the relocation of Address.

Absentee voting

It is a system in which those who cannot vote on the election date (voting date) or early polling place vote before the election date (voting date).
※ The absentee voting procedure uses mail, so it will take a few days.
Please   request ballot papers and vote procedures as soon as possible.
※ Only when "those who are staying outside the ward due to business trips, travel, childbirth, etc." use the absentee voting system on the day of the voting day, use the "Yokohama City Electronic Application and Notification System" online using smartphones and personal computers etc. You can make an online request.

If you are staying outside the ward on the day of the voting day due to work, travel, childbirth, etc., you can vote at the nearest Election Commission, such as your place of stay.

  1. Fill out the “Invoice and Oath” with required items and submit it directly or by mail or online to the Election Commission of Minami Ward, Yokohama to request a ballot.

It will be distributed at all polling places, including early polling places.
If you have completed the voting and wish, please speak to the polling place worker.
