2014 (Heisei 26) celebrates the 55th anniversary of the partnership between Yokohama and Lyon, France in 1959.
From the beginning of the opening of the port before the war, Yokohama was the main export port of Japanese raw silk. On the other hand, raw silk from Yokohama was very important for the silk fabric industry, centering on Lyon. Against this backdrop of this historic silk connection, the two cities have signed a friendly relationship.
Since the tie-up, the two cities have deepened their cooperation mainly on economy, culture, and citizen exchange. On the occasion of the 55th anniversary, we will look back on the history and results of the exchanges so far, further deepen the ties and cooperation of people in fields such as business and cultural tourism, and hope to lead to the future growth of both cities.
In order to promote the commemorative project and excite the 55th anniversary, we have created a commemorative logo mark for the 55th anniversary of the Yokohama-Lyon Sister City Partnership. Except as provided in each item of Article 3 of the "Usage Guidelines", this logo mark is an event that contributes to the promotion of friendship exchange and mutual understanding between Yokohama and Lyon, and by December 31, 2014 You can use it freely about what is carried out in the center. Please use it for public relations.
