Background of sister city partnership

In March 1977, the Romanian Embassy in Japan proposed a sister city tie-up with Constanza City to Yokohama. At that time, the trade volume between Japan and Romania was increasing year by year, and cultural and human exchanges began. Constanza has the largest trading port in Romania and is the same port city as Yokohama, so we reached a partnership on October 12 of the same year.
