On May 28, a very painful incident occurred in Tama Ward, Kawasaki City, where a large number of people including elementary school student and parents who were attending school were attacked with a knife and two affected people died.
In response to this incident, the Kanagawa Prefectural Police requested cooperation in ensuring the safety of children on school roads. To this end, Yokohama City has expanded its anti-crime program patrol, mainly during school hours, and will conduct trial patrols of anti-crime program on school roads around elementary schools during July and August.
