The city of Odesa, a sister city of Yokohama, is facing a risk that water supply facilities may be shut down due to Russia's invasion, making it impossible to supply water to citizens. Therefore, as an emergency support, Yokohama City has decided to provide 33 mobile water purification equipment to Odesa City.
On July 11, International Affairs Bureau, Executive Director for Global Network of Yokohama City met with Deputy Mayor of Odesa in attendance with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to Ukraine and representatives of the International Organization of Japan (JICA). In the future, with the cooperation of JICA, we will deliver it to Odesa citizens while considering a safe transportation route to Odesa City.
