In the Yokohama Port survey of the national port survey conducted by the Ministry of the Environment every year, an ant found at Minamihonmoku Pier on Wednesday, June 19, 2024, were identified by experts, as a result of identifying species. It was confirmed as a fire ant that is an alien creature.
Insecticide bait (Bate agent) is installed around the confirmation point.
Yokohama City will continue to cooperate with the survey and control conducted by the Ministry of the Environment.
The place where the ants were confirmed is in the container yard, and it is an area where ordinary people cannot enter. In addition, there were no reports of human damage in this case.
