[Press Release] "Japanese Rock Ptarmigan" visited Preservation and Research Center, City of Yokohama

Since fiscal 2013, in cooperation with the Ministry of the Environment and the Japanese Association of Zoos and Aquariums, Preservation and Research Center, City of Yokohama has been breeding Svalbard Rock Ptarmigan, a subspecies of the Japanese Rock Ptarmigan, and has been conducting research on grouse habitats in Ex situ conservation. Furthermore, in March 2019, we introduced two Japanese Rock Ptarmigan birds to improve breeding techniques.
This time, as part of the Ministry of the Environment's Ministry of the Environment's Ministry of the Environment's grouse project, we will introduce a new Japanese Rock Ptarmigan male from the Nasu Animal Kingdom and will work on breeding Japanese Rock Ptarmigan in Preservation and Research Center, City of Yokohama.
