List of goals for the 2023 Kanazawa Library

This year, the Kanazawa Library will focus on the following goals. This list of goals has been formulated based on the "Yokohama City Medium-Term Plan", "Yokohama City Educational Promotion Basic Plan", and "Reading Activity Promotion Goals" of each ward.

Promotion of reading activities to enrich citizens' learning

Perspective of Initiatives: Expansion of reading activities utilizing various opportunities such as reading days and reading activity promotion month

Initiatives

(1)Held unique events, special exhibitions, etc. of Kanazawa Library according to the region
(2)Dissemination of information on distinctive initiatives at reading-related facilities in the city during the Kanazawa Ward Reading Festival period (mid-October to mid-December)
(3)Kanazawa library PR in public information Yokohama Kanazawa Ward version (June issue)

Enhancement of services utilizing digital technologies

Initiatives

(1)Data compilation (500 pieces) for transferring Kanazawa photo albums inherited from the Kanazawa Ward Office to Yokohama's Memory.

Establishing children's reading habits

Perspective of Initiatives: Promotion of reading activities according to the child's developmental stage

Initiatives

(1)Enhance and update books of knowledge of children's books (150 books), inspection and replenishment of basic books (120 books)
(2)Infant health check-up venues in cooperation with Kanazawa Ward Health and Welfare Center
(3)Conducting talks (twice a month) for infants, parents, elementary school students, etc.
(4)Acceptance of library tours and work experience
(5)In order to revitalize the teens corner, “POP display of recommended books by junior high school students”

Enhancement of books to help citizens read and solve problems

Perspective of Initiatives: Enhance book materials to meet local needs

Initiatives

(1)Collection of Japanese language learning materials for which demand is growing in the region (100 books)
(2)Enhancement of basic books in the natural science field based on the student use of two universities in the city (50 books)
(3)Replacement and expansion of large picture books to meet demand for reading at schools (12 books)
(4)Promoting the acceptance of donated materials (1,650 books)
(5)Requests for donation of publications to schools, facilities, companies, organizations, etc. in the city
