1.System of Premiums

National Health Insurance premiums are calculated for insured persons in same household.
The insurance premium for each type (medical care, support, nursing care) is calculated for each insured person of the household, and the sum is the household premium.
The premium will be announced in the “National Health Insurance Premium Decision Notice” or “National Health Insurance Premium Notice”, and the head of the household will be charged the premium for all insured persons in the household. Even if the head of the household is not an insured person of the National Health Insurance, if there is an insured person of the National Health Insurance in the same household, the premium calculated only for the insured person will be charged to the head of the household according to laws and regulations. Will be charged and sent to the head of the household according to law.

The premium is the sum of the "insured person's per capita rate" and "income per capita amount".
The “insured person per capita rate” is the sum of the insurance rates according to the number of insured persons.
"Income percent" is calculated by multiplying the standard gross income amount for each insured person (to the page of glossary) by the insurance rate.
The insurance premium rate is determined by the number of all insured persons in Yokohama and the amount of income based on the total premium (the insurance premium for Yokohama City as a whole).
The total amount of insurance premiums is calculated from the amount required to pay the National Health Insurance operating expenses payment (* 1) to be paid to Kanagawa Prefecture, excluding the transfer of the insurer support system (* 2) and the transfer of municipal expenses. Thing.
※1 National Health Insurance operating expenses payment is the expenses paid by municipalities to prefectures for the operation of National Health Insurance.
※2 The insurer support system is a system borne by the country, prefecture, and city to ease the burden of insurance premiums.

Nursing care insurance premiums

(1) For those aged 40 to 64 (The Long-term Care Insurance No. 2 insured), the premium for nursing care is calculated in the National Health Insurance premium.
(2) Those who are admitted or hospitalized at specific facilities (exempt facilities) stipulated in the Nursing Care Insurance Law Enforcement Regulations, etc. are not eligible for the The Long-term Care Insurance No. 2 insured person, so care insurance premiums are charged There is no charge. If you are admitted, hospitalized, or discharged or discharged from the facility, be sure to notify the ward office of Insurance and Pension Division National Health Insurance Section.

Premiums are determined on a household basis.
In mid-June every year, insurance premiums from April of that year to March of the following year are determined and notified for each household, based on the number of insured persons and income status. When making a decision, it is calculated that you will continue to take out National Health Insurance until March of the following year.

After determining the amount of insurance premium, if the amount of insurance premium is recalculated for the following 1-9 reasons, we will notify you with the "National Health Insurance Premium Amount Notice".

  1. If you have newly joined or stopped National Health Insurance
  2. When the number of insured persons for calculating premiums has increased or decreased
  3. When there is a change in the income status of the insured for calculating premiums
  4. When the reduction rate of the insured person's per capita rate is changed
  5. If you become an insured person in The Long-term Care Insurance (40 years old)
  6. When you become an insured person under the medical system for elder senior citizens (in principle, you become 75 years old)
  7. When the insured person's card number (insurance card number) changes
  8. When the amount of insurance premium normally collected is changed due to a change in payment method, etc.
  9. When the payment method is changed to special collection or normal collection

※If there is an insured person in the household who has reached the 40th birthday, the burden of nursing care will be incurred in addition to medical care and support, so the insurance premium will be recalculated after the 40th birthday. We will inform you by the “National Health Insurance Premium Notice”.

The premium amount of the previous delivery date will not be changed, and the premium amount after the delivery date will be increased evenly.

As a result of recalculation, insurance premiums increase

(In the case of fund transfer or payment form payment)
The premium amount of the previous delivery date will not be changed, and the premium amount after the delivery date will be reduced evenly. However, if the premium cannot be reduced solely after the due date, the premium will be reduced in order from the final delivery date.

As a result of recalculation, the amount of insurance premiums decreases

The premium is recalculated according to the number of months the insured has taken out National Health Insurance.
As a result of the recalculation, if the premium amount after recalculation is higher than the sum of the previous delivery date, the difference will be charged as the premium amount for the delivery date coming in the future.
In addition, if the premium after calculation is small, the difference will be reduced in order from the premium on the last delivery date of the premium before the change.

When all households are no longer insured

※If there is a fraction of less than 100 yen, we will summarize it in the first delivery date that will come.
※2 If the amount you have paid so far is greater than the amount you should pay, in principle, we will return the overpaid premium by the method of bank transfer.
Please refer to the “National Health Insurance Premium Refund (Appropriation) Notice” sent separately for the insurance premium to be returned.

By March of the following year, the amount of insurance premiums for the current fiscal year for insured persons who will be 75 years old (insured by the medical system for elder senior citizens) will be enrolled in the National Health Insurance once until March of the following year. We calculate as thing and will tell by "national health insurance premium decision letter of advice".
After turning 75 (after joining the medical system for elder senior citizens), calculate (re) the amount of insurance premiums for the number of months you actually subscribed to, and "Notice of National Health Insurance Premium Amount" Will be announced again.

Premiums cannot be determined after two years have elapsed since the day following the delivery date of the first premium in the relevant year.
Please note that insurance premiums may not be reduced if notification of stopping National Health Insurance or declaration of income is delayed. .

In the case of special collection from pension, please refer to the page "Special Collection of National Health Insurance Premiums from pension".

1.Monthly insurance premiums

Premiums must be paid monthly (10 times a year) from June to March of the following year.

Amount paid

Annual insurance premium divided by 10 times = 1 payment amount

Example of payment

For example, if the annual insurance premium is 150,000 yen, the insurance premium paid at one time will be 15,000 yen.

150,000 yen / 10 times = 15,000 yen

Example of monthly payments
AprilThere is no regular payment.
MayThere is no regular payment.
June15,000 yen
July15,000 yen
August15,000 yen
September15,000 yen
October15,000 yen
November15,000 yen
December15,000 yen
January15,000 yen
February15,000 yen
March15,000 yen

※If the premium for April and May is calculated, it will be included in the premium for the June term and later. For example, “July term” refers to the amount of insurance premiums paid on the end of July out of the insurance premiums for the relevant fiscal year, not the amount of insurance premiums for July.

Premiums must be paid monthly (10 times a year) from June to March of the following year.
Insurance premiums are an important source of revenue for maintaining the system. Please be sure to pay within the deadline.
If payment is not made after the deadline, a reminder letter will be sent to inform you that it has not been paid. In addition, after the deadline specified in the dunning letter, arrearages will be added according to the number of days from the day after the designated deadline to the date of payment.
The due date of insurance premiums is the last day of each delivery month. (If it is a holiday for financial institutions, it will be the next business day.)

Insurance premiums must be paid from the month of becoming an insured person (stopping the insurance you had previously enrolled) (not from the month of notification). If your registration is delayed, you will have to pay back. In addition, if you stop National Health Insurance, the premium will be up to the month before the month you stopped. Please submit the report as soon as possible.

In principle, payment of Yokohama City National Health Insurance premium is made by fund transfer.

Payment by direct debit

On the next fund transfer day, the premium will be deducted from the registered account. In addition, in the case where the insurance premium has been changed retroactively before the previous fiscal year, the transfer may be made in April or May.
Normally, the transfer date is the 29th of each delivery date month, but if it falls on a holiday for financial institutions, the previous business day will be the transfer date.

A total of two copies will be enclosed in the “National Health Insurance Premium Decision Notice” sent in June. If you pay the annual premium (for all periods) in advance, use only the “payment notice for all payments” and discard the “payment notice for the June term”.
In addition, if there is a change in the number of households or income, additional payment slips may be sent or refunded.
●About households whose head of household is 65 years or older
In the case of payment notice payment, if it corresponds to "requirements for special collection (to related page), special collection will be made from October. In that case, even if the entire term is paid in advance, special collection will be performed, so the "payment notice for all term advance payment" is not enclosed. In the case of special collection, we will notify you in late July by "National Health Insurance Premium Notice".
●About household targeted for former dependent reduction of taxes of last year
This year as well, the tax exemption will be applied, and the premium amount from July to March may change. Therefore, the “Payment Form for All Advance Payment” is not enclosed. In the case of reduction of taxes, we will notify you in late June by "Notice of Reduction of Exemption Approval Decision". If you would like to pay in advance for the full term, please contact the ward office Insurance and Pension Division National Health Insurance Section.
※2 Payment slips are sent in the middle of the “month to send”.
※For households whose insurance premiums have changed due to changes in the number of members or income status in the middle of the third fiscal year, we will send you a payment notice after the change at any time. Therefore, in the event that the insurance premium has been changed retroactively before the previous year, a payment slip may be sent in April or May.

The amount of income, which is the basis for calculating premiums, is determined in Address as of January 1 of each year. Therefore, in the case of those who have been transferred from outside Yokohama City, the ward office will inquire the local government in Address as of January 1 about their income status and calculate the insurance premium amount.
Until there is an answer from the local government of the inquiry, the income percent cannot be calculated, so once only the insured person's per capita rate is charged and the insurance premium amount is calculated again based on the answer to the inquiry. If the amount of insurance increases or decreases, we will notify you again using the "National Health Insurance Premium Notice".

When calculating the amount of insurance premiums, for households that fall below the income standard stipulated by laws and regulations, 70%, 50% or 20% of the insured person's per capita rate will be reduced for each of medical, support and nursing care. To do.
