“Negishi District evacuation shelter Joint Training” was held (October 20, 2024).

On Sunday, October 20, 2024, "Negishi district evacuation shelter joint training" was held at Negishi Junior High School.
A total of about 230 people participated, including Neighborhood Association and Neighborhood Associations in the Negishi district, fire brigade, Japan Red Cross Service Corps, Home Disaster Prevention Officers, Yokohama Disaster Prevention License Isogo, Amateur Radio Emergency Communications Cooperation Association Isogo Ward Branch, Fire Department and Ward Office. Among the participants, there were many households with children.
The weather was chilly with occasional light rain on the day, but the training was conducted as scheduled. Smoke experience, confirmation of evacuation routes to the 4th floor of the school building, water supply training for underground water tanks, display and explanation of Hamakko toilets, initial firefighting training by fire brigade, training for cardiopulmonary resuscitation (AED), explanation of the assembly and use of cardboard beds, explanation of first aid for rescuers, supply of hot meals training, display of stockpiling equipment, and explanation of amateur radio.
At the end of the training, fire brigade conducted a simultaneous water discharge on the ground. The appearance of discharging water from eight hoses all at once was a masterpiece.
A lot of people gathered and once again realized the high awareness of disaster prevention in the Negishi area. Thank you very much for all of you who participated.
