Overview

The facilities are divided into areas surrounded by fences where buildings are located and areas outside the fence, and a part of the area outside the fence is used by local residents as a baseball field, gateball field, and a civic garden. . In addition, the prefectural road Akuwa Kamakura, which runs through the facility, passed, and traffic was allowed before the return.

The U.S. Navy's communication facility was requisitioned by the U.S. Navy.
December 1, 1970
The land (164,000 square meters) in the facility has been licensed by the local commander as cultivated land.
September 27, 1976
It was designated as evacuation area.
November 25, 1979
In order to implement a TV reception failure prevention project around the communication station, a joint antenna method was started based on the "Law Concerning the Improvement of Living Environment around Defense Facilities", and a TV reception failure prevention project using a joint antenna method was started, and the Gumizawa district first TV joint hearing association was established.
Subsequently, the Nakata District Joint Reception Association (Shogo 54), the Taisho District Television Association (1981), the Shimoizumi Television Association (57), and the Izumigaoka District Television Joint Residential Association (1983) were established.
In response to the transition to digital terrestrial broadcasting, four unions were dissolved by the end of fiscal 2009, except for the Taisho District Television Association.

The new community service facility Shinsei Kaikan (Gumizawa-cho, Totsuka-ku) was completed with the national treasury subsidy from a project to develop a stable living facility around defense facilities.

The first liaison meeting between the co-hearing association and related organizations was held regarding the operation of the TV co-hearing association.

Complete repair work on prefectural road Akuwa Kamakura has been completed.
September 28, 1990
A memorandum of understanding on the use of land in the facility for farming has been concluded between the U.S. Navy in Japan and the representatives of cultivators.
December 17, 1992
The Japan-US Joint Committee agreed to jointly use the sidewalk on Akuwa Kamakura, a prefectural road.
October 31, 1994
The sidewalk of the prefectural road Akuwa Kamakura has been completed.
September 21, 1995
The Japan-US Joint Committee agreed to jointly use the installation of fire prevention water tanks for earthquake countermeasures in the facility.
March 29, 1996
Construction of a fire prevention water tank for earthquake countermeasures has been completed.
October 23, 2002
Joint use of security lights was agreed at the Japan-US Joint Committee.
May 23, 2003
We applied for change of contents about joint use for security light setting.
October 18, 2004
The U.S.-Japan Joint Committee agreed on a policy to return it.
