As a destination of the U.S. Navy Yokosuka Supply Center in Japan, temporarily store aircraft fuel (JP-8) transported by tanker from an oil storage facility (Azuma Warehouse area) located in Yokosuka City, and then Yokota Air Base by railway and car from here to Yokota Air Base. Supply to

In order to prevent disasters such as petroleum complexes requested by Yokohama City, the Japan-U.S. Joint Committee agreed on basic matters concerning the implementation of on-site inspections of Tsurumi oil storage facilities in the U.S.

A fire broke out on tank No. 306 in Area II. The fire was extinguished through joint activities between the city Fire Bureau fire brigade and the U.S.
November 25, 1985
Fire Bureau and the U.S. Navy in Japan signed a Mutual Aid Agreement on Fire Service (revised on May 20, 1980).
March 14, 1988
In response to a request from the city's safety measures, the Yokohama Defense Facilities Bureau completed the maintenance and repair work of oil and oil spill prevention dikes under the guidance of the city's Fire Bureau.
September 5, 1990
Under the guidance of Fire Bureau, Motoichi, the Yokohama Defense Facilities Bureau has completed the construction of fire extinguishing equipment, water curtain equipment, and watering equipment for cooling.

A beper recovery system (a device that recovers volatile gasoline) was completed within Area II.
May 24, 2001
As a result of the government's investigation of soil contamination in the facility, soil contamination caused by lead 1.2 to 8.8 times higher than the environmental standard value at a total of six sites in the facility.
June 27, 2001
Fuel oil spilled into the facility due to damage to the piping valve of the tank.
The U.S. Army, Yokohama Coast Guard Department and Motoichi collected some oil spilled into nearby canals.
March 20, 2003
Regarding soil contamination in the facility, measures implemented by the Yokohama Defense Facilities Bureau have been completed based on the guidelines of the Environment Agency.
