Part of Yokohama city area, including enclaves, is designated as evacuation area.
As a evacuation sites in the event of a disaster, there is also a request from the local community to ensure flexible operation, such as allowing free entry and exit in the event of a disaster.

It is used continuously as a warehouse.
[Current status of Zushi city area]
U.S. military personnel, military personnel and their families live, and there are management offices, sports facilities (tennis courts, etc.), and central public facilities.
In addition, there are the Ikego branch of the U.S. Navy Yokosuka Facility Headquarters in Japan, the second fire department of the U.S. Navy Command Headquarters integrated fire brigade in Japan, and the Ikego branch of the U.S. Navy Yokosuka Base Kenhei Command in Japan.

August 1, 1972
The Kanazawa Ward Residents' Council was formed to promote the return of the Ikego (for Yokohama City).
May 4, 1978
At the Japan-US Joint Committee, it was agreed that the return of the planned passage of the Minami-Yokohama bypass was agreed.
July 10, 1978
The U.S. military pulled out soldiers, base employees, materials, etc., and the entire ammunition storage became de facto closed.

The site of Yokohama Yokosuka Road (20,180.72 square meters) has been returned.

At the Japan-US Joint Committee, joint use for the establishment of the prefectural road Kanazawa Zushi Line bypass was agreed.

Part of the city area was designated as evacuation area.

The prefectural road Kanazawa Zushi Line bypass has been opened.
November 17, 1994
Discussions on concerns over the construction of U.S. military family housing in Zushi city area were settled through the mediation of the prefecture, and were agreed between the government and Zushi City.
April 1, 1996
320 family houses in Zushi city were delivered to the U.S. military. Subsequently, 286 units were delivered over the third order.
March 31, 1998
248 family houses in Zushi city have been completed, and all construction of the houses has been completed. (Total of 854 units)

The Japan-US Joint Committee agreed to provide a temporary elementary school (in Zushi city area).
July 22, 2003
Following discussions at the Japan-US Joint Committee Facility Coordination Subcommittee, the government has requested the construction of about 800 houses and their support facilities in Yokohama city area.
August 4, 2004
The city issued a statement on the request from the government for U.S. military facilities in the city, and asked the government to "leave green as much as possible and give due consideration to the conservation of the natural environment" and "Coordinate with the legal system for urban development." "Review of the number of housing construction units, which is estimated to be about 800 units from these perspectives, and seek assistance as much as possible without sticking to 800 units to navy as much as possible."

The Japan-U.S. Joint Committee Facility Coordination Subcommittee was held, and the United States agreed that "the modified area associated with construction should be reduced to less than half of the area of Yokohama city area and consideration should be given to the natural environment of conservation," "the construction of housing and its support facilities after reducing the number of housing units to about 700 units," and "returning the enclave parts."
