2019 Fire and Emergency Preparedness (Financial)

①Decrease in the number of fires! Fire rate of fire ※This is the first time since City of Yokohama, Fire Bureau was launched!
・The number of fires in 2019 was 685, which fell below 700 for the first time in 64 years since 1955.
The fire rate fell further from the previous year (1.9) and reached 1.8 for the first time since the establishment of City of Yokohama, Fire Bureau (1948).
※The fire rate refers to the number of fires per 10,000 people.
・Of the 428 building fires, 264 were house fires, a decrease in the proportion of house fires in building fires.
・Among house fires, fires caused by stoves are the most common, and fires caused by wiring equipment and electrical equipment are on the rise.
② The number of emergency participations has exceeded 210,000, a record high for the ninth consecutive year!
・The number of emergency participations was 212,395, up 8,627 from the previous year, and the number of transport personnel was 182,646, an increase of 6,574 from the previous year, a significant increase from 2018.
・Looking at the number of transport personnel by age, the number of transporters increased in all ages, with 102,618, an increase of 3,361 from the previous year, and a significant increase.
