The outline of the Fire Bureau budget for fiscal 2020 is as follows.

Fire Bureau Key Businesses

  • Enhancement and enhancement of firefighting systems [P4, P5]

 In order to respond to any disaster, including fire and rescue, we will properly maintain and manage equipment and materials and conduct various trainings throughout the year.
 In addition, in order to receive various disaster reports reliably and respond promptly and accurately, we will properly maintain and manage the firefighting communication command system.

  • Enhance and enhancement of emergency rescue systems [P4, P6]

In order to respond efficiently and effectively with a sense of speed to the increasing demand for emergency services, we will increase the number of rescue squads as `` day shift rescue squads '' that operate only during the day, and increase the number of emergency requests. Increase the number of emergency ambulances to be used as an alternative to emergency services.
In addition, a new emergency workstation that will serve as an educational base for paramedics, etc., to improve knowledge and skills.

  • Promotion of firefighting measures for the Tokyo 2020 Games [P4, P7]

 Based on the "Yokohama Vision" formulated by Motoichi for the tournament, in order to support the holding of a safe and secure tournament, we will maintain equipment and materials to respond to terrorist disasters and incidents of large numbers of injuries. Secure an ambulance for exclusive use.

  • Enhancement of fire brigade [P4, P8]

In order to improve fire brigade's ability to respond to disasters, which is the cornerstone of regional disaster prevention, we will reliably improve our ability to respond to disasters by improving equipment storage facilities and updating fire brigade vehicles (loaded vehicles).

  • Promotion of Disaster Prevention and reduce disaster damage Education in Yokohama Disaster Risk Reduction Learning Center [P4, P9]

 In addition to providing disaster prevention education for a wide range of generations, we will expand our experience-based content through public-private partnerships to convey the importance of self support and community support to as many citizens as possible.

  • Promotion of installation of initial-stage fire-fighting techniques. equipment, etc. [P4, P9]

 We will continue to promote the installation of 700 units, including stand-pipe initial-stage fire-fighting techniques. equipment, which is set forth in the Earthquake Disaster Prevention Strategy, in order to enhance the power of initial-stage fire-fighting techniques. in the region and to improve the disaster prevention capabilities of the community support.

  • Maintenance of firefighting headquarters government building [P4, P11]

 In order to maintain the firefighting headquarters building, which will be the center of firefighting and disaster prevention activities, the current Hodogaya fire department will be dismantled, and construction of the fire department headquarters building and renewal of the firefighting communication command system equipment will be started.

  • Construction of fire-fighting boat "Mamori" [P4, P12]

 Based on the design implemented in the first fiscal year, we will start construction for renewal of the fire boat protection, which is indispensable for ensuring the safety and security of Yokohama Port and supporting the development of the city economy.

  • Improving the working environment of fire stations [P4, P13]

 We will maintain a working environment where staff can easily work and play an active role, such as renovating aging government buildings, updating equipment, and improving the working environment for women.
