City of Yokohama, Fire Bureau and Yokohama National University Graduate School of Advanced Science and Technology signed a memorandum of understanding on firefighting research on March 28, 2019.
Yokohama City and Yokohama National University have already established a mutual cooperation system in the "Comprehensive Agreement on Cooperation and Cooperation for Urban and Regional Revitalization" (concluded on June 5, 2013).
In order to solve various issues related to firefighting, such as specific disasters caused by hazardous materials, high-pressure gas, and explosives, the MOU aims to further realize Fire Bureau's basic goal of "Yokohama, a city where people can feel safe and secure" by linking the expertise and knowledge of the Advanced Science Institute of Yokohama National University.
