Every year, Port and Harbor Bureau publishes big news related to Yokohama Port.
We are pleased to announce that we have compiled the Big News for 2019.

At Daikoku Futo, a new passenger ship terminal has been opened, realizing Japan's first four foreign cruise liners simultaneously docking. At Shinko Wharf, the passenger ship terminal "Yokohama Hammerhead," which combines Japan's first commercial facilities and hotels. In addition, Yokohama Port was selected as the finalist of the "Port of the Year" award finalist, and Yokohama Port was selected for the "Cruise of the Year 2019 Special Award".

Initiatives to strengthen international competitiveness include strengthening cooperation with ports of East Japan, resuming port calls on European routes, reopening ports on European routes, developing Shin-Honmaki Wharf, commercializing Honmoku Pier, and developing the Minami-Honmaki Wharf. In addition, in order to ensure smooth logistics functions during the Tokyo 2020 Olympic and Paralympic Games, the Yokohama Port Logistics Countermeasures Conference will be set up in which the public and private sectors work together to create an easy-to-use port.

Typhoons No. 15 and 19 hit one after another, and Yokohama Port was also severely damaged. We are making every effort to restore port facilities as soon as possible in cooperation with the government and others.
