Yokohama City has concluded a Memorandum of Understanding on Partnership (concluded in April 2014, updated on March 31, 2019) with the Port and Harbor Authority of Thailand, and has been working to build beneficial relationships for the development of Yokohama Port and ports in Thailand through seminars and other events in both countries.
This time, under the framework of intercity cooperation between Yokohama City and the Port Authority of Thailand, Yokohama Port Wharf Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as YPC) "FY2019 Low Carbon by Promoting modal shifts and Terminal Efficiency in Thailand Ports" has been adopted by the Ministry of the Environment as the "2019 Intercity Collaboration Project for Realizing a Low Carbon Society".
YPC, together with Yokohama City, has been conducting training at the Port Authority of Thailand and working with companies in Yokohama in the Y-PORT project to form an environmental business.
The city will also be involved in this survey as a joint proposer, and through this opportunity, will further strengthen its partnership with the Port and Harbor Authority of Thailand. In addition, we will use the results of our survey work to examine future environmental measures at Yokohama Port.
