In the Noto Peninsula Earthquake on January 1, 2024, many lives were lost due to the collapse of old wooden houses. Seismic retrofitting work to prevent building collapse in the event of a major earthquake is the best disaster prevention measure, but if it is difficult due to cost or other issues, there is also a reduce disaster damage measure to save lives.
In Yokohama City, in addition to rebuilding and seismic retrofitting work, we subsidize a part of the installation cost of disaster prevention beds and seismic shelters that are relatively cheap and simple to install, and from 2024, the maximum subsidy amount will be 100,000 yen each Expand.
Please consider installing a "disaster prevention bed / earthquake-resistant shelter" that can secure a minimum living space even if the building collapses.
