In the Noto Peninsula Earthquake on January 1, 2024, many lives were lost due to the collapse of old wooden houses. Seismic retrofitting work to prevent the collapse of buildings in the event of a major earthquake is the best disaster prevention measures, but if it is difficult due to cost or other issues, reduce disaster damage measures are taken to protect lives.
In addition to rebuilding and seismic retrofitting work, Yokohama City subsidizes a part of the installation cost of disaster prevention beds and earthquake-resistant shelters that are relatively inexpensive and easy to install, and the maximum subsidy has been 100,000 each from FY2024. Expand by 10,000 yen.
Please consider installing a "disaster prevention bed / earthquake-resistant shelter" that can secure a minimum living space even if the building collapses.
