Come, see, buy it! Yokohama Hashidori Shopping Street
Writer Anna Ogino
When I walk along Yokohama Bridge, I hear Chinese with a considerable probability. Nearby Minamiyoshida Elementary School has a high percentage of foreigners in elementary school student, and their parents shop here. The number of Chinese shopkeepers has increased.
If you handle fish, meat, dried food, and vegetables at one store, it is a Chinese restaurant. There is no sashimi because there is no tradition of eating raw fish. There is a "pork face" in the freezer at the back.
"Coexistence and co-prosperity,"
And Mr. Yasutaro Ishizuka, president of the shopping district cooperative. However, he added that the rules of the city will be followed. Mr. Ishizuka is the owner of "Anraku", a soba noodle for over 70 years. The town's appearance was 82 years old, an active bird.
Matsutake mushroom 1,000 yen was nailed to the eyes at "Yasai no Sato". Next to the side is 200 yen, a stalk of myoga full of plastic bags. The owner, Minoru Sato, is the second generation, and has been trying to keep as fresh as possible since my father's generation. It seems that they choose the seasonal production area according to the season. For radish, Hokkaido and Aomori in summer and Miura and Chiba in winter.
"There's also a papaya,"
It seems that edible loofahs and papayas are conscious of Asian customers. Mr. Sato told me that I was worried about the stems of matsutake mushrooms or myoga. The stalks of ginger have been distributed since this year, and are seasonal "now only". As soon as I heard, I reached out to a plastic bag.
The meat "Yamanashi Yaseo Shoten" has a history of more than 70 years. Takeshi Yamanashi, the second generation, inherited by his father from his relatives. In the box next to the show window, a red lump is floating on the sauce. It was a popular product charsew.
"About 20 bottles a day,"
It is said that there are customers from far away, so they are baked every day in a special kiln. The gentle sweetness enhances the sense of fulfillment of the meat, and the more it chews, the more it is full of flavor. The unique flavor is also popular, but the meat is also particular. Yamanashi pointed to me, who was called "Hama Pork", and pointed to the show window. All pigs have a sticker of "Hama Pork" attached. It was Yokohama's proud brand meat.
All cows are Japanese beef, and there are a variety of production areas in Hokkaido, Kumamoto and Okinawa. He seems to buy which part is good after receiving a report from a wholesaler. They are sliced in line, but they can also be cut for steak. As soon as I knew it, I asked for a break. "It's not very expensive," he added.
Sashimi is lined up in the case at the front of the "Uohan". The red sea bream of Awajishima, the flounder of Aomori, and the sea horse mackerel of Mie. All the letters "natural" are dancing.
"Which one do you recommend?"
I asked Kenta Watanabe, the third generation of young people. It's a flounder. Because I was worried, I chose Kesennuma bonito.
The third generation's commitment is taste and freshness.
"There are many customers who come to buy good things,"
In the back, a red fish that looks like a giant goldfish attracts your eyes. It's a red piger in the Goto Islands.
"It's rare,"
"It's popular with Chinese people."
I hear that half of the guests are foreigners. Japanese sashimi and foreign fish were peacefully co-existing at one eaves.
In the kimono "Asahiya", a flashy mannequin welcomes you. The red and black playing cards patterned kimono has lace on the sleeves and hem. In fact, there is a job to wear such kimono on a daily basis. The Miyoshi Performing Arts Center next to Yokohama Bridge is a box for popular plays, but it began to provide costumes to the actors there "for some reason."
"I'm the third generation now, but it's the time of my predecessor's landlady," says the clerk Rino Kashiwara.
It seems that they are consistently engaged in design and dyeing of fabrics to finishing.
Mr. Kashiwara brought a pamphlet. I started renting kimonos in Shinjuku this October, and we also have dress-like kimonos. The renovation of kimonos that actors no longer use is useful. The popular culture that blooms in downtown Yokohama is loved by state-of-the-art young people and foreigners in Shinjuku. It was a day when I experienced internationalization at the daily level at Yokohama Bridge.
