Akuwa River

The Akuwa River is a tributary of the Sakaigawa River. From the vicinity of Mitsukyo in Seya Ward, it flows southward in parallel with the prefectural road Seya Kashiwao Line, along the JR Tokaido Line Sakamoto Bridge in Kashiwao-cho, Totsuka-ku, it joins the Hirato Nagatanikawa to form the Kashio River.

From 1971, Urban Ogawa River Rehabilitation Project (currently shifted to an urban infrastructure river improvement project) We are renovating from the junction with Hirato Ei Tanikawa to Murashita Bridge.

This project is a river environment improvement designed to make the Akuwa River, which flows through important areas where hospitals and nursing homes are concentrated along the river, a "river friendly to all people," including the disabled and the elderly. "Mahoroba" is taken from a song in "Kojiki" Keiyukiki.

"Wa is a wonderful country in the country, Mt. Aogaki, hidden Yamato-Uruhashi Uruhashi." This song was sung by Yamato Takeru Nomikoto in memory of Yamato. It is surrounded by mountains. Wa is really beautiful. "In other words, Japan where I live (Wa) has enough charm as a utopia (mahoroba sex) and sings the feeling of being beautiful. If you come far away, you have a strong feeling that you want to return home quickly.

In other words, "Mahoroba" originally means "a place where people live."

From the junction of Nasegawa to the Ise dam bridge, the old riverbed is used as a river management passage on the right bank, and the planted riverside promenade is being maintained. Located on the back of the shopping street along the prefectural road, it is a place that is closely related to daily life such as commuting, going to school, shopping, and walking.

In the upper stream of Kamomebashi Bridge, we used the old riverbed to create flower beds along the riverbank. In addition, around Gokenbashi, it has been developed integrally with the bus stop.
