Subsidy for Wig purchase costs for cancer patients

Information on the Wig Purchase Cost Subsidy Program for Cancer Patients (subsidized: those applied within one year from the date of purchase)

In Yokohama City, we support a part of the purchase cost of wig (wigs) from 2016 to support the employment and social participation of cancer patients and to improve the quality of life.

○ Those who can receive the grant
Those who are eligible for the grant are those who fall under all of the following items.
・Those who have resident certificate in Yokohama as of the date of application
・Those who have purchased a wig to deal with hair loss symptoms due to side effects such as anticancer drug treatment, who are currently receiving treatment or who have been treated within 2 years from the date of application

※If you have already received a grant decision, you will not be able to apply for a new application for 5 years from the year following the previous grant decision.

○ Expenses to be subsidized

Grants apply for grants within one year from the date of purchase of wigs, etc.

In addition to ready-made products, it is also applicable when purchasing and creating hats and materials.

※In the case of rental, it is not eligible. However, if it is purchased after the rental period, it will be eligible.

○ Grant amount
We will support 10,000 yen. If the purchase amount is less than 10,000 yen, it will be the actual purchase amount.

If you purchase multiple wigs or hats less than 10,000 yen, you can apply together if the date of purchase from the date of application is within one year.

From the viewpoint of supporting employment and social participation, we set a maximum amount and subsidize.

Fill out the “Yokohama Cancer Patient Wig Purchase Cost Subsidy Grant Application Form (PDF: 214KB)” with required items, attach a copy of receipts and a copy of documents certifying treatment, and mail it to the application destination Please send it.

※ Grant applications are also distributed at "Cancer Medical Care Cooperation Base Hospitals (14 hospitals)" and "Each ward office Public Relations Section" in the city.
・Copy of receipts, etc. indicating that you purchased the wig
・Copy of documents certifying treatment created within 2 years from the date of application (medicine notebook, medical statement, treatment policy plan, etc.)
※ Make sure that the treatment you are receiving, such as the name of the anticancer drug, can be confirmed.

★ Attention
Please note that if the original is attached instead of a copy of a receipt or a document certifying treatment, the submitted documents cannot be returned.

Non-profit organization Japan Hair Donation & Charity (JHD&C) (outside site)
It is a non-profit organization that provides hair at beauty salons nationwide, creates tailor-made wigs, and provides them free of charge to children who have lost hair due to pediatric cancer treatment etc. .
