Subsidy for purchase of wigs for cancer patients

Yokohama City has subsidized a part of the purchase cost of wig (wigs) since 2016 to support the employment and social participation of cancer patients, and to improve the quality of life.

○ Those who can receive the grant
Those who are eligible for the grant are those who fall under all of the following items.
・Those who have resident certificate in Yokohama as of the date of application
・Those who have purchased wigs to deal with hair loss symptoms due to side effects such as anticancer drug treatment, and who are currently receiving treatment or have been treated within 2 years from the date of application .
※Those who have already received a grant decision cannot apply for a new application for five years from the year following the grant decision.

○ Expenses to be subsidized
The grant is for which a grant application has been made within one year from the date of purchase of the wig.
In addition to ready-made products, it is also applicable when purchasing and creating hats and materials.
※In the case of rental, it is not eligible. However, if it is purchased after the rental period, it will be eligible.

○ Grant amount
10,000 yen will be subsidized. If the purchase price is less than 10,000 yen, the actual purchase amount will be used.
If you purchase multiple wigs and hats of less than 10,000 yen, you can apply together if the date of purchase to the application date is within one year.
From the perspective of supporting employment and social participation, we set a maximum amount of money and subsidize.

※ Grant applications are also distributed at "cancer treatment cooperation hospitals (14 hospitals)" and "Each ward office Public Relations Section" in the city.
・A copy of a receipt that indicates that the wig was purchased
・Copy of proof of treatment prepared within two years from the date of application (medicine notebook, medical statement, treatment policy plan, etc.)
※ Make sure that you can confirm the treatment you are receiving, such as the name of the anticancer drug.

★ Attention
Please note that if the original is attached instead of a receipt or a copy of a document certifying treatment, the submitted documents cannot be returned.
