Yokohama City Cancer Eradication Measures Promotion Ordinance

In Japan, one in two people is said to have cancer. Even if you are not yourself, your loved ones may get cancer.
Cancer is more likely to be cured if cancer is detected early and treated. In Yokohama City, based on the proposals of all city council members, not only prevent cancer, early detection, and appropriate medical care, but also patients and their families can live with peace of mind even if they get cancer. The "Yokohama City Cancer Eradication Measures Promotion Ordinance" was enacted to promote cancer initiatives from a wide range of perspectives such as nursing care, welfare, education, and employment.

Implementation status of measures for cancer control in Yokohama City

The "Yokohama City Cancer Eradication Measures Promotion Ordinance" (hereinafter referred to as the "Ordinance") contributes to the prevention and early detection of cancer by stipulating the basic matters of measures related to cancer measures in Yokohama City. It was enforced in October 2014 for the purpose of promoting comprehensive cancer measures to enable citizens to receive medical care pertaining to appropriate cancer.
Based on Article 18 of the Ordinance, we report the implementation status of measures related to cancer control in Yokohama City in 2022.
