No.34 Tomioka Daiichi District Mochitsuki Tournament in Tomioka Park
Last Updated February 13, 2025
On Sunday, January 26, the New Year's annual Mochitsuki Tournament was held at Tomioka Park, sponsored by the Allied Neighborhood Associations and the Japan National Council of Social Welfare. The wind was blowing a little on the day, but the weather was blessed and there were so many participants that a line could be formed before the event.
Steamed glutinous rice is transported from the steamed furnace, used with a stone mill, and transformed into a pure white stomach. "I've eaten a rice cake, but how do you make it?" The children who were watching with interest also experienced mochi with small "kine" and "light". I'm so hard! Hey!
The freshly-made mochi is rolled quickly and delicious, and both adults and children smile. Kenchin soup prepared by Shakyo, local welfare officer, chief children's committee was also very popular.
In addition, we had fun from children to the elderly, such as taking a commemorative photo with a quoits, fishing, and matte game corner, and taking a commemorative photo with "Botan-chan".
These efforts were a wonderful opportunity to watch over the children in the community and connect the residents, and I felt that I wanted to value them. .
Thank you very much for all the people involved in the event and operation. Thank you very much.
