Jobutsuji Temple
Last Updated March 12, 2021
There is Seibutsu-ji Temple right next to Keiun-ji Temple. At the time of the opening of the port, Seibutsu-ji Temple was devoted to the dormitory of American missionaries.
It is said that Hebon lived in the main hall and Brown lived in the back of the storehouse. This is written in a letter Hebbon addressed to his friend.
According to the report, the large main hall was partitioned with sliding doors to create a room of only eight large and small. As a result, it is written that the large garden, which has become much more livable, is also beautiful.
Brown is also a person who worked hard to translate the Bible and hymns. (Pamphlet on the History of Kanagawajuku)
