Jobutsuji Temple
Last Updated March 12, 2021
There is Seibutsu-ji Temple in the immediate vicinity of Keiunji Temple. At the time of the opening of the port, Seibutsu-ji Temple was devoted to American missionaries.
Hepburn is said to have lived in the main hall and Brown lived in the back of the storehouse. This is written in the letter Hepburn addressed to his friend.
According to it, the large main hall was partitioned with sliding doors to create only eight large and small rooms. As a result, it is written that I like the large garden, which has become much more livable, and I like it beautifully.
Also, Brown is a person who has been instrumental in translating the Bible and Hymns. (Published in Kanagawa-juku History Pamphlet)
