Jingyoji Temple (Jingyoji)
Last Updated March 12, 2021
Cross the Aokibashi Bridge and enter the Miyamae shopping street on the path of the old Tokaido, you will find Jingyoji on the mountain side. At the time of the opening of the port, the main hall of Jingyoji was made of Tozo, but it is said that it was remodeled and used for the French Embassy.
The building was lost due to the Great Kanto Earthquake and the Great Yokohama Air Raid, but the main hall and guest hall were rebuilt in 1971 (1971), and it has continued to this day.
On the precincts, there is a ginkgo Furuki, which is more than 250 years old, designated as a famous tree Furuki in Yokohama City. (Pamphlet on the History of Kanagawajuku)
