　Izumi Ward has a traditional culture that has been passed down for many years. One of them, Sagami Kite, is said to have a history of about 400 years, and can pray for the healthy growth of children and the rich harvest of five grains during the Dango Festival. The Sagami Kite Izumi Preservation Society revived the custom of flying kites, which had been discontinued for a while, in 2010, and this is the 13th time.
　The venue is a rice field around Tenno Moriizumi Park. The energetic performance of "Okazu Taiko", who had a friendship appearance, resonated, and it began while those who knew that there was a kite flying in a large venue and watched.
　On the day, the wind was a little weak, so I was worried whether the largest kite of 3 meters square would rise, but in the second challenge, I got on the wind and climbed to nearly 50 meters in height. After that, I was able to see kites flying in the sky even higher and elegantly blue sky. The audience was very happy with a smile, and it was a good opportunity for the children to experience the traditional culture of Izumi Ward by manipulating the kite string and touching Japanese drums.
　The ward office will continue to support the activities of the Izumi Traditional Culture Preservation Society, which is working to connect Izumi Ward's traditional culture to the future, and create opportunities for many residents to experience traditional culture, one of the attractions of Izumi Ward.
