　January 15th is "New Year's Day". "Dondo Yaki" sponsored by Fujimigaoka Union Neighborhood Association was held at Izumi Sakura Plaza for the first time in three years. "Dondoyaki" is held as a local event that concludes the New Year during the New Year's Day. Pine decorations and shime ropes that were decorated up to the pine, and talisman awarded last year are brought to shrines, local plazas and fields. I hope for rich harvest, business prosperity, home safety, and no illness. Until the COVID-19 pandemic, the Fujimigaoka Union Neighborhood Association, we all wished for a year-long sickness while making rice cakes and eating pork juice.
　After the opening greetings, sprinkle on a yagura that was formed and ignited. The flame burned at a stretch, and the grilling began. An event that has been going on for a long time in the Fujimigaoka Union district. Many people gathered at the venue with New Year decorations, and it was time to pray for the health and safety of the year this year while watching the burning pine decorations and shime rope.
　We will continue to pass on the culture of good Izumi Ward together with the local community while connecting the traditional events of the region to the next generation.
