What is evacuation shelter?

What is evacuation shelter?
In addition to the functions of designated evacuation shelters (evacuation shelters for those who have lost their homes due to earthquakes), the role of providing supplies and information to those affected at home and as a base for rescueevacuation shelter.
The evacuation destination is specified in advance by the place of residence so that evacuees are not concentrated in certain evacuation shelter. (For details, please refer to the page of "Disaster Prevention Map (Hazard Map, etc.).")
evacuation shelter will be established when shaking with a seismic intensity of 5 or more is observed in Yokohama.
The establishment and operation of the evacuation shelter will be carried out in cooperation with the evacuation shelter Steering Committee, which is organized by residents, school officials and the government from normal times.
Role of evacuation shelter
Designated evacuation centers
This is a place for those who have lost their homes due to the earthquake or who have difficulty continuing living at home can live for a certain period of time.
There is a minimum stockpile necessary for evacuees' lives, such as food, drinking water, and blankets.
A place to supply supplies and information to people affected by the disaster at home

Rescue and rescue activities for residents
We have prepared equipment for rescue operations by community support residents and rescue the injured.
Equipment and materials are stored in each evacuation shelter's emergency stockpiling.
