About evacuation during storm and flood damage

Last Updated June 15, 2021

About evacuation behavior

Please check the evacuation behavior in advance.

Consider the disaster risk around your home and the new coronavirus infection, and be able to take appropriate evacuation actions.

Procedures for confirming evacuation behavior

[Step 1]
Make sure your home is colored on a flood hazard map or landslide hazard map.
If your home is not colored, give priority to ensuring safety at home. If your home location is colored, proceed to [step 2].

[Step 2]
There are four options for evacuation behavior. Considering the risk of new coronavirus infection in evacuation sites, where an unspecified number of people may evacuate, consider in advance evacuation actions to other than evacuation sites established by the government.

Options for evacuation behavior

Evacuate and evacuate to safe relatives and acquaintancesLet's talk about it on a daily basis. Also, make sure that it is a safe place on the hazard map.
Evacuate and evacuate to safe hotels and innsNormal accommodation fee is required. Please make a reservation and check in advance.
Ensuring indoor safety

Check the three conditions on the hazard map, and if the following conditions are met, you can ensure safety at home.
[Condition 1] Not in the flooding area such as house collapse (confirmed on flood hazard map)
[Condition 2] You can move to a place higher than expected depth (such as the second floor of your home)
[Condition 3] Water, food, toilets, etc. can be secured in case of flooding
※Prepare the necessary items in advance in case of power outages or water outages.

Evacuation and evacuation to evacuation sites established by the government

In principle, supplies and food in evacuation sites should be brought to evacuees. When evacuating, bring your necessary items such as masks and food.
Before you start evacuation, be sure to check the status of evacuation sites on the Izumi Ward Office website.

Evacuation by car

When evacuating from your home to the evacuation sites, where the government is established, evacuate on foot while considering safety.
It is possible to pick up people who have difficulty evacuating on their own by car. (However, parking is prohibited in principle, so please use nearby coin parking etc.)
In addition, evacuation in a state of strong rain and wind is rather dangerous, so if indoor safety can be ensured indoors, give priority to indoor safety.

Evacuation with pets

When evacuating with pets such as dogs and cats, be sure to put them in a cage and evacuate. If you do not have a cage, please contact the Izumi Ward Office General Affairs Division before you evacuate. (☎:045-800-2309)
In addition, in order to reduce the burden on pets as much as possible, consider using a pet hotel or evacuating to relatives and acquaintances' homes in advance.

※Pets that can be accepted at evacuation centers are dogs, cats, and other small animals (birds, rabbits, hamsters, etc.).
※Specific animals (dangerous animals), animals designated as specific aliens, and similar animals, large animals, and animals requiring special breeding facilities cannot be accepted at evacuation centers due to safety management.

Actions to be taken

The evacuation information is issued by the government, specifying the target area.
If evacuation information is issued in your area, start evacuation behavior.

[Pattern 2] When inundation damage due to flooding is expected due to localized heavy rain

For areas where flooding is expected due to river flooding due to heavy rain, evacuation information will be issued and the target area will be determined based on the water level situation and future rainfall prospects.
When evacuation information is issued, an elementary and junior high school or district center near the target area will be established as evacuation sites, and the evacuation destination will be publicized to the target area by public relations vehicles.
