On June 17, 2022, the Government of Japan submitted an application for certification of the 2027 International Horticultural Exposition (BIE) to the International Office for Expositions (BIE).
In addition, at the BIE General Assembly held on June 20 and 21, the Government and the 2027 International Horticultural Exposition Association explained the application for certification.
By receiving certification at the BIE General Assembly scheduled to be held around November this year, it will be decided to hold the highest class (A1 class) as an international horticultural exposition based on international treaties.
The Mayor of Yokohama Takeharu Yamanaka commented on this matter.
