The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism has designated June as "Town Development Month" every year since 1983, and has commended individuals or organizations that have contributed to attractive town development as "Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism Award for Merit of Town Development".
Recently, the relevant award of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism has been renewed, and the “Town Development Award <Merit Service Division>” has been established to take over the award, and the first award winner was announced on May 31, 2022.
From Yokohama City, two organizations that have contributed to the promotion of town development through the urban redevelopment project were awarded.
