Yokohama Port aims to realize a decarbonized society by 2050, Yokohama Port is promoting the formation of carbon-neutral ports in cooperation with the government and private businesses.
The consortium consisting of the Nippon Yusen Group and others, is developing tugboats with low environmental impact that navigate ammonia as fuel, aiming for demonstration operations around FY2024 (6).
Today, IHI Motor Co., Ltd., Nippon Kaiji Kyokai, Nippon Yusen K.K., and Yokohama City have signed a memorandum of understanding, and will work together on smooth acceptance of ammonia fuel tug boats at Yokohama Port. I will let you know.
