The main export item of Yokohama Port is the finished vehicle, and Daikoku Wharf is the largest automobile handling base in East Japan. On April 1, 2022, Yokohama Port Wharf Co., Ltd. completed the conversion of Daikoku Wharf C4 Container Terminal to an automobile terminal.
The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism and Yokohama City have increased the depth of the P3 and P4 quay on the Yokohama route side of Daikoku Wharf from 7.5m to 12m in order to respond to the increase in the size of dedicated car ships and the increase in the number of landing ships from 260m to 290m. We have advanced improvement work to extend the extension from 2.
The redevelopment has been completed, and the service will start on April 15 as a P3 quay. Combined with the adjacent T3-T8 quay, it will be the largest continuous Bath in Japan with a length of 1,400m, capable of simultaneously landing five large car-only ships with a total length of 200m.
As a result, Daikoku Wharf will become Japan's largest automobile handling base where 11 large-sized car carriers can be installed at the same time, further strengthening the automobile handling function of Yokohama Port.
