Yokohama Port is deeply involved in the city's economy, and not only logistics related to import and export cargo, but also hotels and commercial facilities that make use of the port landscape and image of the port, manufacturing industries that make use of the location, and economic ripple including vessels entering ports. It has a ripple effect and is indispensable for the "international port city Yokohama" where about 3.76 million citizens live.
In order to quantitatively verify these economic effects, we have made estimates based on data from the Yokohama port statistics and interviews, along with the Yokohama City Input-Output Table published in 2021.
