We deeply apologize for any inconvenience to our customers and citizens since the derailment accident occurred on June 6.
Since the accident occurred, we have been working hard to restore work with the great support of the relevant companies, but at this time we have not been able to lift all the derailed vehicles on the rail. In addition, it was found that some trolleys had distorted, which could hinder the movement of vehicles. For this reason, restoration work requires more time, and at first, we aimed to resume full line operation from the first train on Sunday, June 9 with the shortest possible process. Not standing.

1 Derailed vehicle status and restoration work status
Of the five derails, three cars (cars 2, 3, and 6) were lifted up on the rail.
On the other hand, in Cars 4 and 5 in the middle, the wheels sink into the ballast (crushed stone laid under the makuragi) due to severe damage to the makuragi, so the body is inclined and approach the tunnel side wall.
In addition, it was found that the trolley of Car 6 on the rail was distorted, and other vehicles may not be able to withstand transport to the depot, so we are reviewing the removal method.
During this period, in addition to the officials of JR East, Tokyu Corporation, and contractors have been very helpful in carrying out the work during this period, and a total of 650 workers are engaged in the work.

2 Expected recovery
At this time, there is no prospect of resuming all lines.
In addition, we will provide information on the restoration status and the prospect of resuming all lines at any time.

3 Future restoration work and necessary processes
Regarding the removal of derailed vehicles to the rails and removal of vehicles, we will consider all possible methods while giving maximum consideration to safety to prevent secondary disaster from occurring.
 (1) Raising the remaining two vehicles on the rail
 (2) Removal of vehicles
 (3) Repair of damaged orbit (replacement of macrogit)
 (4) Repair of third rail
 (5) Safety confirmation by commissioning train

4 Future Operations
The Blue Line will be operated back all day between Azamino and the landing.
For non-communication sections, we will continue to provide agency transportation by bus from 5:30 am to 24:30 am (25:00 on weekdays) by private company buses and authorities buses from Odori Station to Nakada Station-Tateba Station-Izumi-Chuo Station (Sotetsu Izumino Line).
Due to the lack of transportation capacity, we are calling for the use of transfer to other company lines when we go out.

Comment by Hirotoshi Jo, Director of Transportation Bureau
"We deeply apologize for any inconvenience and inconvenience this may cause to our users.
We apologize again that the cause of the derailment accident was caused by an artificial error of the officials, which greatly undermines the trust of citizens.
Even now, we are making every effort to recover as soon as possible, but unfortunately, there is no prospect of a time to resume full line operation.
We will work with the aim of resuming all lines as soon as possible, work to prevent recurrence, and restore trust in public transportation. "
