Last Updated July 29, 2024

Corporate introduction

Harumineen is engaged in a wide range of businesses, including landscaping, planting, tree management, and various garden construction, mainly in Yokohama City. Since its creation in 1976, we have been conducting activities rooted in the local community. Currently, there are 10 employees. Of these, there are two female employees. This time, Mr. Shohei Aizawa, Senior Managing Director, who has changed his values due to the birth of a child, talked about creating an environment where female employees can work easily.

Question 1. First, please tell us about the status of female recruitment in the construction industry.

In fact, in the construction industry, landscaping is the industry where women have been working for a long time. That said, I was asking nearby housewives and housewives of farmers to weeding. In that sense, I think the number of women working as engineers is overwhelmingly small, just like men. I think there is a growing awareness of women's employment in Japan as a whole, but if you filter the construction industry, the hurdles for women to work are still high. There are many jobs that require skills, and there are also problems with improving the environment such as changing rooms and toilets. Also, many men working in this industry misunderstood women jumping into the construction industry. I'm sure she's masculine and I'm sure she's okay to say anything. It's not all right at all. I'm a woman. I don't think the employment of women in this industry will progress unless we understand this and create a system in which men support women in the field. Attention should be paid to women, including language and clothing. That way, we can give a good impression not only to female employees working together but also to our customers. I think we need to change the impression of the entire industry little by little.

Question 2. Do you have any cautions in supporting female employees?

In our company, when a new graduate female student joined the company, I began to think deeply about the company's support. Employment is one of the biggest choices in life. You chose us in that important scene, so you can't afford it. First of all, I try to listen to young people, no matter what opinion or consultation. The younger generation will continue to work for the company. That's why I want to incorporate their opinions as much as possible. Even at work, we sometimes propose ideas that our generation cannot think of, and above all, young women are rich in sensibilities. I often look at the details. There are many scenes where such sensibilities, politeness, and attention are useful in landscaping work. In fact, in the work of designated management of parks received from local governments, it is essential to submit proposals that use a lot of photos that will excite the image of park management at the time of application, but if you leave such work to women, your ability will be fully demonstrated. As soon as I leave it to her, I could get an order for a proposal that I had created in the past (laughs). You're right in the right place. While she is young, she has completely become a valuable force of our company.

Question 3. What kind of initiatives do you take to hire women?

Although we have some systems, it is important to create an atmosphere that makes it easier to consult. For example, even if a child wants to get a fever and take a break immediately, it doesn't matter how much the system is set up without an atmosphere that can be said. The important thing is to have a conversation. I think that the atmosphere of the workplace is directly linked to the ease of working because it is a company with a small number of people. Also, this has changed my consciousness greatly because I had a child, but I want to create a workplace where I can interact with my family members. You can feel free to consult about your child-raising concerns in the company, or your child can return to your parent's workplace with "now". It would be ideal if the company could be a cozy company for the family of employees. That's not consistent, but we often hold barbecue parties next to the company on Friday evenings on weekends. When work is over, there are people who want to gather together. Of course, it's not compulsory, but I think there are times when I can talk because it has a friendly atmosphere that is different from my usual workplace. I feel that having many such communication opportunities will have a positive effect on both work and relationships.

Question 4. Finally, what do you think about promoting the active participation of women in the future?

The word "promoting the active participation of women" has spread, and there is a movement in various industries to "take women aggressively." I'm grateful that the government, such as the national and local governments, waving the flag, creates a more comfortable and more comfortable mood. However, if the employer, who is the employer, does not correctly understand the abilities of women and the appeal of working with women, they become unhappy with each other. First of all, I think it is necessary for us to change our awareness of women's employment. By the way, in the construction industry, do you think it would be interesting to be a construction company only for female employees? There is no need to talk about the level of changing the consciousness of male employees, and women themselves can create new ways for women to play active roles in the construction industry. Men can't be careless. I think it is also attractive to promote the active participation of women by encouraging such fun imagination and positive change.

In my job hunting, I was looking for a company to be involved in landscaping work. The reason I became interested in this company was that the homepage was pop. I felt an easy-to-talk atmosphere from the design, and it was a senior managing director who was easy to talk to (laughs). At the interview, I was impressed by the fact that I was told that I would like to leave various things to young people. And in fact, from the first year, I was able to challenge the open recruitment project for designated management of parks that I was interested in since I was a student, and I was entrusted with field supervision. I think I'm doing what I want to do more than I had imagined. Currently, it is very fun to plan, manage, and publicize an event once a month for the designated management of the park. I would like to increase the number of parks I manage. Landscaping is not the world of craftsmen and men as I think. If there are women who are interested in parks, greenery, civil engineering, etc., I would like you to challenge them more and more.
