How does it change?

Fruits and vegetables buyers can receive or purchase products at each facility and store in the southern market (hereinafter referred to as the “former southern market”) after the abolition of the Central Wholesale Market.
Flower buyers can also purchase at the privately run flower wholesale market. In addition, the related building will continue to operate for the time being.

Since April 1, 2015, wholesalers in the southern market have been operating.

  1. As an authentic wholesaler, it operates at a home store, and has facilities outside the market for processing and shipping in the former southern market.
  2. Become a real trading participant and operate at stores in the former southern market.
  3. In addition, we will jointly qualify as a real trading participant and operate at stores in the former southern market.

Stores run by a genuine wholesaler cannot be sold because they are facilities outside the market, but you can receive products ordered in advance. You can receive products ordered in advance at stores run by a genuine wholesaler.
You can purchase products at stores from authentic trading participants and other businesses.

The temperature control function will be enhanced to further maintain the quality of goods before delivery.
The processing function will be enhanced, and it will be possible to save the hassle of processing for buyers.
The old southern market will be the “* designated storage location” of wholesalers, so products will arrive directly from the production area.

※Designated storage locations outside the market (Article 39 of the Wholesale Market Act, Article 42 of the Yokohama City Central Wholesale Market Business Ordinance)
An out-of-market storage location is a place where goods from the production area can be delivered directly without going through the market. Based on the application from the wholesaler, the mayor designates it as a designated storage location outside the market.
