Purchases in the Southern Market after the reorganization

How will it change?

Buyers of fruits and vegetables and fisheries can receive or purchase products at each facility and store in the Southern Market (hereinafter referred to as the "Old Southern Market") after the abolition of the Central Wholesale Market.
Flower buyers can also purchase at the privately blossoming local wholesale market. In addition, the related buildings will continue to be open for the time being.

Subsidiaries in the Southern Market are listed on or after April 1, 2015.

  1. Becoming a home wholesaler, operating at a home store, and has out-of-market facilities for processing and delivery in the old southern market
  2. Become an authentic trading participant and conduct business at stores in the former Southern Market.
  3. In addition, we will jointly acquire certification as an authentic trading participant and conduct business at stores in the former Southern Market.

Stores run by a home wholesaler are facilities outside the market and cannot be sold, but you can receive products ordered in advance. You can receive products ordered in advance at stores run by a home wholesaler.
You can purchase products at stores from authentic trading participants and other businesses.

The temperature control function is enhanced so that the quality of the product before delivery can be further maintained.
The processing function will be enhanced, and it will be possible to save the time and effort of the purchaser.
The old southern market will be the “* designated storage location” for wholesalers, so products will arrive directly from the production area.

※Designated storage locations outside the market (Article 39 of the Wholesale Market Act, Article 42 of the Yokohama City Central Wholesale Market Operation Ordinance)
Out-of-market designated storage location is a place where goods from the production area can be directly delivered without going through the market. Based on the application from the wholesaler, the mayor designates it as a designated storage location outside the market.
