Episode 9: Bosatsu, born from the soil
Last Updated March 15, 2024
Seishibosatsu, which is held at all Shimoseya's Zentsuinseishido, has an interesting and good story.
About 240 years ago, the first year of the Enkyo era, about 240 years ago, in Yomura, Fukami, Yamato-shi, a very religious person named Nakamaru Sagenta lived.
One night, Genta left had a mysterious dream.
"Left Genta, I'm in the soil now, but I want to go out to the world and give the feast of Buddha, please go out to the earth."
When I called this, the Buddha disappeared. Thinking that there is also a mysterious dream, Genta waits for the dawn, immediately leaves the house with a hoe on his shoulder, and looks at the site of the former Kashima Shrine where the dream was told. A Buddha statue came out from inside.
"As you said, it's a waste." After Genta carefully washed and cleaned the Buddha statue, he held a festival at a village shrine. This is Seshi Bodhisattva.
After a while, Genta left listened to the Buddha's voice in the dream.
"I want to give more people and empower them to make everyone feel at ease, go around the countries with me."
That's right.
Left Genta put the shrine's Seshi Bodhisattva in a kitchen, and traveled around Seoi to spread the teachings of Buddha to people.
After that, Seshi Bodhisattva was enshrined in all hospital Amida-do, and gathered the religions of Chie-no-ze and many people. The 23rd of January and August is the fair (Ennichi), but the fair in August is very busy every year, and the watermelon of the stall (Roten) falls down to the approach due to the congestion of the people who visit. It seems that there were often times.
At the beginning of the Showa era, when watermelons were still rare, when watermelons that were no longer sold were distributed to worshipers, they were pleased that this was the benefit of the help. Until around 1945, there was the Shimoseya branch school (Bunkyojo), but it is said that the children did not have any injured person (injury), which is also thanks to the help. .
