Episode 6: Hashido's rain beggar

Last updated March 15, 2024

Once upon a time, there was a year of great sunshine. The paddy fields were cracked like turtles, and the rice was still loose, and the vegetables in the field almost decayed.
This is a big deal, and everyone in the village of Hashido gathered and consulted with Amago.
"Rain is something that the dragon god falls, and let's make a big dragon with straw and accompany the dragon god."
"No, let's get the water of Oyama, the god of rain, and get it."
"I think that if you do both, you will be a spiritual test Arata."
The story was organized, and immediately brought straw by Muranaka, made a very large dragon, and set up green bamboo in the middle of the river under the Ekobashi Bridge, and wrapped the dragon. In addition, we chose several pairs of young people who were fast and ran to Oyama to get water. The young man who returned with water in the bamboo tube stopped a little, and continued to run to the village without a break and took the water back.
Put the water brought back from the dragon's head and signal the village with a half bell of Saifukuji Temple.
"Rokkon Shojo, let it rain! Rokkone, let it rain!"
I prayed. In response to this shout, the villagers were all at once.
"Ryujin, Afuri, please let us rain."
He sang, and poured straw like a small thousand dragons and begged for rain.
Then, it was mysterious, and it was cloudy suddenly cloudy, and large rain fell.
