Last Updated March 15, 2024

An illustration of a folk tale of "Tobee-san in a hood"

Once upon a time, the head of the Nagano family of Aizawa (Aizawa) in Seya was named Fujibei for generations.
For several generations, there was Fujibei, who was wearing a hood all year round with a very cold weather.
Even in the summer, the children were crazy about Fujibei, who was wearing a hood.
"I wonder if Mr. Fujibei has something on his head, maybe."
That said, when I see Mr. Fujibei
"Mr. Fujibei, Mr. Fujibei, take a hood."
I'm sorry.
Mr. Fujibei looked around the children from inside the hood and shook his neck, saying, "No,"
"But I'll show it to anyone who can exchange it with my head, how about?"
He said. And the children scattered in vagueness.
I was in trouble when Fujibei carried the collected annual tribute to Edo-Yashiki and went out in front of the palace. I have to get a hood.
"Don-sama, came to deliver this year's annual tribute." Mr. Fujibei, who greeted him, "I've had a hard time. But he doesn't seem to have a good look, but what's wrong?"
When asked by the lord, Fujibei told me that if I somehow took a hood, I suddenly felt sick. Then
"Yes, I'll give you the body of your role. From now on, don't hesitate in front of me, and you can leave it on. "
The Lord forgives Mr. Fujibei's hood.
To respond to the words of care of the lord, Fujibei worked hard as a master, and became famous as Fujibei with a hood, even in the vicinity of Kingo Kinzai.
In the winter of 1916, Nagano, a number of generations who stayed in a private house in Saitama Prefecture, told his mother to a child who did not come out of the futon when it was cold and said, "If it was so cold, it would be like Fujibei with a hood. I was surprised to hear that.
Mr. Fujibei, who came to discipline cold children in such a place, was Nagano's ancestor.
