Provision of food at events and events

If food is provided at an event in Nishi Ward, Yokohama, please consult with the West Health and Welfare Center Health Sanitation Division Food Sanitation Section at least two weeks before the event is held.

Requests to Event Organizers

For events that have many stores dealing with food, please submit documents, etc., and organize the necessary/required procedures as much as possible. In addition, please fully understand the details of the store opening and consider installing necessary venue facilities (depending on the type of event and the food handled) such as parcels and hand-washing equipment.

About food handling methods and procedures

The procedure differs depending on the type of event.

1 Local festivals, festivals such as shrines, school festivals, etc.

In the event of a festival or event, if the target event, the number of days, and the location of the event is to provide food at an event that meets the following requirements, an "event notification" is required.
Please prepare the following required documents and submit it to the West Health and Welfare Center Health Sanitation Division Food Sanitation Section.
For the first time, please consult with the West Health and Welfare Center Health Sanitation Division Food Sanitation Section in advance.

※Procedures will be accepted at the counter. Notifications and applications are not allowed on the Internet.

About the target event

  • Neighborhood Associations, Neighborhood Association and shopping district
  • Citizen's festival sponsored or co-sponsored by Yokohama City
  • Festivals such as shrines and Buddhist temples
  • Agricultural festivals and industrial festivals organized by various organizations such as agricultural cooperatives and fishery cooperatives
  • Various events held by welfare groups
  • Corporate festivals (excluding business activities) held by companies to local residents.
  • School festivals, athletic meet, bazaars hosted by schools (including nursery schools and kindergartens)

[Number of days]
The same organizer or the same event must be held up to about 5 times a year. In addition, the number of days per session must be 5 days or less.

[Place]
It is held in and around the activity area of the residents' organization that hosts the event.

To provide food at events and events that do not fall under 1, "Event Overview registration form" is required.
Please prepare the following required documents and submit it to the West Health and Welfare Center Health Sanitation Division Food Sanitation Section.
Depending on the food you provide, you may need to consult with the West Health and Welfare Center Health Sanitation Division Food Sanitation Section at least two weeks before the event.
※Event Summary registration form will be accepted at the counter. Notifications are not available on the Internet.

When cooking, processing and selling food

When cooking food (heating, serving, cutting, pouring beverages, etc.) at events, etc., a "business license" is required.
For details on the procedure, please check the following page and obtain a business license before the event is held.

When selling food, etc. placed in containers and packaging

If you do not cook food (heating, serving, cutting, pouring beverages, etc.) at events, etc., and sell the following foods, you must submit a “business notification”.

  • Fresh products (e.g., vegetables, fruits, meat and fresh fish in containers and packaging)
  • Rice cereals (e.g. rice, beans, etc.)
  • Foods that cannot be stored at room temperature (refrigerated or frozen foods) (e.g., frozen foods, ice cream, Western confections, etc.)
  • Foods that cannot be stored for a long period of time (e.g., bento boxes and sozai)
