About the health of teeth and mouth
Last Updated February 5, 2025
The mouth has an important role in eating, speaking, creating facial expressions, and breathing.
Keeping your mouth clean and functioning is essential for a healthy life.
Take care of your teeth to enjoy eating deliciously and happily from your mouth throughout your life, and to enjoy time with family and friends.
About the connection between general health and teeth
Oral diseases are associated with systemic diseases.
In particular, periodontal disease is also recognized as a complication of diabetes.
Diabetes causes inflammation of periodontal tissue and worsens periodontal disease by becoming more susceptible to infection (prone to infection) due to reduced immune function.
However, it has been reported that daily oral care and appropriate dental treatment have improved HbA1c, an indicator of blood glucose control.
In addition, periodontal disease includes heart disease, chronic kidney disease, respiratory disease, osteoporosis, rheumatoid arthritis, malignant neoplasms (cancer), preterm births and low-weight births.
It is associated with various systemic diseases, and maintaining dental and oral health is very important for maintaining general health.
About daily care of teeth and mouth
In order to prevent cavity and periodontal disease, daily "tooth brushing" and regular "dental checkup" are important.
Toothpaste
We recommend toothbrushes that don't have too large head and match the size of your mouth.
Use the one selected by a dentist or dental hygienist according to your mouth condition.
◆How to apply and move a toothbrush
Place the tip of the toothbrush firmly on the face of the tooth and move it in small increments.
◆Let's change the toothbrush
The replacement of the toothbrush is approximately one month.
As you use a toothbrush, the brushing part (brush) wears and loses elasticity, reducing the ability to remove dirt.
If you continue to use it for a long time, it will increase the remaining polished Shiga, causing cavity and periodontal disease.
◆Let's use a floss or an interdental brush
The dirt in the mouth that comes off with a toothbrush is about 60% of the total.
Use a floss or interdental brush for dirt between teeth.
About dental checkup
Neither cavity nor periodontal disease has no symptoms at the beginning. Even if there is no pain, it is important to check regularly at a dental clinic.
Take care of your teeth by taking a regular dental checkup from a young age.

About periodontal disease
Periodontal disease is a disease in which plaque (plaque) causes inflammation and destroys periodontal tissues such as gums and bones supporting teeth.
In the early days, there will be no subjective symptoms, but if left unchecked, pus will come out and the teeth will be upset, and at the end you will have to remove the teeth.
If you have no symptoms, take a dental check-up.

The number of caries in children is decreasing year by year, but the number of children who have caries about 9 times from 1 year and 6 months old to 3 years old is increasing.
If you eat to avoid cavity, make it a habit to brush your teeth and keep your teeth healthy.
