When you become pregnant, the gums tend to swollen or become cavity due to changes in hormone balance and insufficient brushing due to sickness. Severe periodontal disease has also been reported to increase the frequency of preterm birth and underweight infants.

Mom's mouth health has a significant effect on the newborn baby.

Have a dental checkup around 12 to 27 weeks of pregnancy as much as possible!

Please contact the conducting medical institution and make an appointment for a maternity dental checkup.

We recommend booking time in Consultation hours, an obstetrics medical institution.

Medical examination contents

The dentist examines the presence or absence of cavity, tartar, gingival inflammation, etc. by visual inspection, and provides dental health guidance based on the results of the medical examination. X-ray inspection is not performed.

Precautions

※ As a result of the medical examination, if treatment is required, medical insurance will be charged.

※ If you have been transferred out of the city, you cannot use a consultation ticket.

※ Consultation tickets are not available outside of the participating medical institutions.
We do not refund the cost of receiving a consultation ticket and do not refund the cost of receiving a consultation ticket.

※ The consultation ticket can be used only during pregnancy. Please note that it cannot be used after giving birth.

Results of dental checkups for pregnant women

Many pregnant women are consulted every year. In fiscal 2021, 10,705 people (43.0% of pregnant women) were examined.
