May 31 is "World No Tobacco Day" established by the World Health Organization (WHO). The Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare defines May 31 to June 6 as "No Smoking Week" every year. Smoking that causes serious health hazards such as lifestyle-related diseases and lung cancer. It is also a problem that passive smoking has a health impact. Why don't you take this opportunity to think about the harm of tobacco for yourself, for your child, for the people around you?

Held 2024 World No Tobacco Day Event & Gallery Exhibition

On May 29, the World No Tobacco Day event was held in the multipurpose hall on the first floor of the Minami Ward government office.
With the cooperation of members of the Minami Ward Health Activity Promotion Team, we conducted a quiz on blood vessel age measurement and panel displays, as well as the prevention of passive smoking using Haguhaguno tree, a support base in the Minami Ward area.
In addition, with the cooperation of Minamiyoshida Elementary School, we exhibited non-smoking posters drawn by sixth graders. At the same time, participants selected one of their favorite poster. The posters with a large number of votes this time will be used throughout the year to raise awareness of smoking cessation and prevention of passive smoking by Minami Ward Health and Welfare Division!

From June 4th to June 7, we exhibited a non-smoking poster for 6th graders at Minamiyoshida Elementary School, which was exhibited at the World No Tobacco Day Event at the Minami Ward Office 1F Gallery!

Health Family Smoking

At the World No Tobacco Day Event & Gallery Exhibition, we exhibited a non-smoking poster drawn by Minamiyoshida Elementary School sixth grader, but through posters drawn by children, it was an opportunity to think about the harm of tobacco and passive smoking at home and in the community. Isn't it?
