Health activity promotion staff

Minami Ward Health Activity Promotion Officers are commissioned by The Mayor of Yokohama to help improve the health of local residents.
In cooperation with the ward Health and Welfare Center, we are engaged in various activities for health promotion, such as lifestyle-related diseases prevention. <Term of office 2 years>

1 Health events are held in familiar places so that you can easily move your body and experience and learn about health.
[Example] lifestyle-related diseases prevention, walking, health measurement sessions, gymnastics classes, lectures, etc.

2. We are engaged in educational activities for health.
[Example] Awareness-raising activities related to smoking cessation, recommendations for physical checkup and cancer screening

3 Provides health-related information.
[Example] Issuance of health-related event flyers and newsletters from health activity promotion staff, circulation of Neighborhood Associations

We cooperate with health promotion business in Health and Welfare Center, 4th ward.
[Example] Cooperation with World No Tobacco Day Event and South Day

The Minami Ward Health Activity Promotion Committee has approximately 270 people in 16 districts (as of March 1, 2024).
In fiscal 2024, we are focusing on "spread awareness of specific medical examinations and cancer screenings for prevention of illness" and "promotion of walking".

Minami Ward has a low rate of specific medical examinations and cancer screenings under the Yokohama City National Health Insurance.
Specific medical examinations and cancer screenings lead to prevention of illness and early detection and treatment of cancer, so we are calling for the significance of consultation.

In each district, we plan about 3 to 5km walk for beginners, and many people participate.
We consider various walking courses so that you can enjoy it, and conduct preliminary inspections and workshops to carry out safely.

Health activity promotion members also exhibit at the Minami Ward Health and Welfare Festival “Ikiiki Fureai Minami Nan Day” held on the first Sunday of October every year.
The health measurement meeting is an annual event, and many people are looking forward to receiving it every year.

We issue a newsletter from the Minami Ward Health Activity Promotion Officer once a year to spread the activities of health promotion members.
